While there
are worldwide huge differences between the older and the younger generations,
this due to astrology, and each generation on a global basis can be seen
similar with the younger generation less friendly, i.e. less cordial and less
polite, more arrogant, more ignorant, crazier and, in my opinion, often more
brutal too, Italy still marks a difference.
There it is
easier to approach the people, and not just the elder ones, than in other
countries, me knowing Europe and Latin America. In Italy even young ladies do
not mind talking to you for long. This happened three times in a three day long
journey. After a smile they talk to you
endlessly and give you good advices too.
Even though Italians of all ages are often friendly they are, compared
to what I discovered in Denmark or Sweden, less obedient to their government –
more than the Greek though who I, despite prohibition, in 2018 saw smoking in
every restaurant; also still riding their motorbikes without helmet- , unlike
Germany or Scandinavia less political correct – they voted for a right wing
national government in 2018- but show less politeness when it comes to arguing
in public, even at the reception of a hotel or public transportation, sometimes
by telephone, always loudly and even touching my legs while sitting opposite in
a crowded train.
Whereas I
do not like pizza, I like lasagna, I adore tiramisu, a good coffee or wine and
love this unique Italian mentality, not to be found somewhere else on the European
or American continent.
